Worcester County Maryland has a native i5 application written in RPG.  The application was built using a traditional “green screen” or text based interface.  Worcester County contracted BDK Inc to build a web site using Lansa technology to allow the general public to view real estate tax balances and business property taxes on line.  The web site was built with Lansa WAMs on an IBM i5, also acquired from BDK Inc., running an Apache Web Server.  The WAM accesses the data on the i5 directly.  There is no need to refresh on download data to a separate web server.  The public is able to view the same information used by the Worcester County Tax office.
